Champions League: PSG Eliminated if...

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is set to face Borussia Dortmund this Wednesday, December 13, in the sixth and final matchday of the Champions League group stage. It’s a do-or-die match.

PSG could find themselves in the Europa League next March. Elimination is a real possibility this Wednesday night in the Champions League. Currently sitting in second place behind the Germans, PSG can potentially be eliminated from the Champions League according to various scenarios.

Group F standings with PSG:

1. Dortmund, 10 pts
2. PSG, 7 pts
3. Newcastle, 5 pts
4. AC Milan, 5 pts

Paris Saint-Germain would be eliminated from the Champions League in the following scenarios:

1. If it loses to Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle beats AC Milan.
2. If it loses to Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan beats Newcastle.
3. If it draws against Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle beats AC Milan. In this case, PSG and Newcastle would be tied on points, but the English team has a better head-to-head goal difference (a 4-1 win at home and a 1-1 draw in Paris).

PSG will top its group with a victory against Borussia Dortmund.
