PSG Considers Signing Youssouf Fofana During the Summer Transfer Window: The Player Addressed the Possibility in a Press Conference

According to L’Équipe, Youssouf Fofana, the 25-year-old midfielder from AS Monaco, is in talks with PSG regarding a potential transfer in the upcoming summer window. Discussions are ongoing with the player’s entourage, although no official negotiations have begun yet. “AS Monaco and Youssouf Fofana have agreed that it’s time to part ways this summer,” reports L’Équipe.

However, PSG will face stiff competition for his signature. “AC Milan, Arsenal, Atlético de Madrid, and PSG have all held discussions with the player’s entourage, but no concrete negotiations have taken place yet. The transfer is unlikely to be finalized before the end of the Euro,” the report continues.

PSG? Why Not

Naturally, Fofana was questioned about this in a press conference with the French national team. “I have one year left on my contract. I’ve discussed my future with the club’s management; it’s no secret. We have an agreement to move on to a new stage. If it doesn’t happen, I will complete this final season with Monaco.”

“I hope everyone will benefit this summer. I’m not thinking about it currently; I have a great sports entourage that handles that. It’s not my job; I’ll focus on what I know how to do: play on the field.”

“It’s a big French club that is already a giant in Europe. There’s still no Champions League (trophy). Do I see myself there? Not necessarily, I’m not fixated on it. If it happens, why not; if it doesn’t, I won’t have nightmares about it,” Fofana’s statements were relayed by Le Figaro.
