PSG progresses in the Bernardo Silva deal, but uncertainties remain: should they wait for his contract to end or act now? According to sources, Paris might be ready to wait… or pounce.

PSG’s pursuit of Bernardo Silva is advancing, but the Parisian club faces a strategic dilemma: should they wait for the expiration of his contract or act immediately?

Although Bernardo Silva is an expensive option, waiting could make the deal more financially advantageous. The player extended his contract with Manchester City until June 2026, including a release clause of around 60 million euros. Given the scarcity of opportunities in the market, PSG might decide to pay this amount this summer. However, the situation is more complicated.

According to English journalist Ben Jacobs, Bernardo Silva’s release clause will only be effective starting in the summer of 2025, complicating current negotiations. Manchester City, under no obligation to lower their price this year, could demand a higher sum, estimated at 75 million euros.

PSG to Meet the Silva Camp

Despite these complications, PSG could benefit from the influence of Jorge Mendes, Bernardo Silva’s agent, who already represents several players within the Parisian club. This relationship could facilitate a favorable agreement.

Additionally, the account PSG Inside Actus on X reports that PSG is determined to sign Bernardo Silva this summer. “PSG will soon meet with Jorge Mendes and Bernardo Silva to finalize his transfer this summer. Campos has been trying for a year to bring him to Paris, and this year, the player seems ready to leave Manchester City. If Paris and the Portuguese player reach an agreement, things could move very quickly.”
