According to The Telegraph, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was reportedly in a favorable position to recruit the talented midfielder Kalvin Phillips. However, another source contradicts this claim.

In search of a midfielder following the unexpected surgery of Gabriel Moscardo, the Parisian club is, nevertheless, facing competition from Newcastle, which has also expressed keen interest in the English player. Negotiations seem to be progressing, but PSG is up against stiff competition.

While Manchester City is not opposed to selling Phillips this winter, Paris Saint-Germain will have to contend with other top clubs such as Juventus, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich.

The race for the midfielder’s signature promises to be intense, but PSG may not be as actively pursuing the deal as previously suggested, according to another English source, Ben Jacobs, a transfer market specialist.
