However, the newspaper insists that tensions are real and are centered around the handling of the Mbappé situation. “The relationship between the PSG president and his sports advisor, though previously good, appears to have become strained due to several misunderstandings. The first issue that soured relations was Kylian Mbappé. When the player sent his famous letter informing the club of his decision not to extend for an additional year, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi became furious,” reports Le Parisien.
“He then sought the support of his sports advisor to put pressure on Mbappé’s camp. However, Campos remained very measured and distanced from the position of the PSG president. According to our information, during a tense meeting, the Qatari executive, highly agitated, questioned Campos about whether he worked for him or for Mbappé’s entourage,” the media explains.
