FC Barcelona is eyeing two former PSG players, Rabiot and Verratti, to replace the injured Gavi. However, it seems challenging.

According to Sport, Deco, the sporting director of FC Barcelona, is considering Adrien Rabiot from Juventus and Marco Verratti from Al-Arabi to compensate for Gavi’s prolonged absence.

“The idea is to have a midfielder to compensate for Gavi’s absence. It would be a loan until the end of the season, as we did several years ago with Edgar Davids, for example,” explained president Joan Laporta on Tuesday.

However, attracting Rabiot or Verratti will be difficult. The report emphasizes that both transactions appear complex for a transfer this winter. Barcelona lacks the funds to pay the massive salaries of the two players. Unless a deal is struck, such as a loan, it will be impossible.

Barcelona is, therefore, considering other PSG players. Carlos Soler and Fabian Ruiz are targeted, and Xavi, the Spanish coach, is also thinking about Giovani Lo Celso, another former PSG player.
