Luis Campos, the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, is set to continue splitting his attention with Celta Vigo for an extended period.
Since 2022, Campos has signed a two-season contract with Celta Vigo, where he serves as an advisory recruiter. During his tenure, he has been involved in the recruitment of 14 players. Despite a somewhat mixed start to the season, Celta Vigo managed to achieve its goals of staying in the top division last season, both in terms of sports performance and finances.
Furthermore, Luis Campos has established good working relationships with Juan Carlos Calero, the club’s coordinator, and Rafael Benitez, the team’s coach. Campos has gained significant influence within the club, even though the ultimate authority still rests with Marian Mouriño, the daughter of the club’s president, Carlos Mouriño.
Currently positioned 14th in La Liga, the club is keen on extending Campos’ contract, which is set to expire in June 2024. Initial discussions regarding the extension are expected to begin in the coming months, as reported by Relevo.
