PSG has reportedly entered direct negotiations with Stade Rennais for the transfer of Désiré Doué.

According to Insider la Source on X, PSG is making rapid progress on the Désiré Doué deal. Sports advisor Luis Campos is said to have recently met with François Pinault, likely to discuss Doué, with Stade Rennais’ financial director also present.

Negotiations for the transfer of the young Rennes talent have possibly begun. Recently, Rennes’ president Olivier Cloares told L’Equipe and Ouest-France that while a transfer isn’t out of the question, it will come at a high price.

Given that Rennes will not be participating in European competitions, the financial gap may necessitate selling players during this transfer window. Cloares stated, “Is Désiré Doué’s departure inevitable? He’s been followed by top European clubs from a young age, and that won’t change this summer. We’ll see based on the offers.”

He also acknowledged the financial implications of missing out on European football, confirming a reduced budget but asserting that the club will remain competitive through strategic sales and investments.
