In early June 2023, Paris Saint-Germain unveiled the contract extension of their iconic captain, Marquinhos. The press photo with the player included a jersey marked 2028.
But according to Le Parisien, similar to Mbappé, who had posed with a jersey highlighting his extension until 2025, while the contract included an optional year, Marquinhos had only extended his contract until 2027, with the possibility to stay until 2028.
Ultimately, Marquinhos chose to activate this option last December, officially binding him to Paris Saint-Germain until 2028. So, there was no letter sent as Kylian Mbappé did.
