AS Roma wanted to sign Kolo Muani this winter, but the PSG striker was deemed too expensive.
Italy had its eyes on RKM this winter. Randal Kolo Muani (26 years old, 2 matches, 3 goals in Serie A this season), who left on loan to Juventus Turin, was struggling for game time at Paris Saint-Germain. However, another Italian club also had its sights on him during the winter transfer window: AS Roma.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Claudio Ranieri confirmed Roma’s interest in signing the French international:
“I wanted Kolo Muani, and so did the club’s management. But it wasn’t possible. We didn’t have the financial means to pay his salary, and we needed to reduce our wage bill first.”
Facing financial constraints, the Giallorossi had to abandon the idea and ultimately did not sign a forward this winter. Meanwhile, Kolo Muani is already thriving at Juventus, where he has scored 5 goals in 3 matches.
