Enzo Raiola addresses Donnarumma’s stance on Safonov’s arrival at PSG
Speaking to L’Équipe, Enzo Raiola, agent of Gianluigi Donnarumma (26), shared insights into how his client reacted to the arrival of Matvey Safonov (26) at PSG last summer.
Despite expectations of increased competition, Donnarumma remains PSG’s undisputed number one goalkeeper and has not been fazed by Safonov’s presence.

Raiola downplayed any tension, emphasizing that elite clubs must have strong backup options. “It’s completely normal for a top club like PSG to have another quality goalkeeper. You never know what can happen during a season.”
He also added: “Safonov played when Donnarumma needed a break, and that’s just part of football.”
Donnarumma’s Future at PSG
With contract renewal talks ongoing, Donnarumma appears fully committed to PSG’s long-term project. The Italian shot-stopper wants to extend his stay and solidify his role as Luis Enrique’s first choice in goal.
