PSG Still Open to Contract Extension, Mbappé Gives Up On bonuses

According to AS, PSG is changing its strategy for Kylian Mbappé, with no intention of offering a contract extension.

AS suggests that the path seems clear for Real Madrid to sign Mbappé when he becomes a free agent on June 30, 2025. PSG allegedly prefers Mbappé to activate the clause extending his contract by one year, until 2025, rather than presenting a renewal offer, citing the impossibility of competing with Mbappé’s exceptional financial conditions.

However, PSG has categorically denied these reports. The club asserts that all options are on the table, contradicting the information from the Spanish media outlet AS.

According to Dani Gil, a journalist from COPE, PSG is not ruling out offering Mbappé a new contract or having him activate the optional year he had signed, extending his deal until 2024. PSG remains confident and protected in the Mbappé situation, emphasizing that they have financial agreements in place with the player.

RMC asserts that PSG and Mbappé have reached an agreement stipulating that the striker will not receive a portion of the money owed to him by the club, which amounts to approximately 80 million euros, tied to various bonuses. Despite this, PSG maintains its desire to extend Mbappé’s contract, leaving the player’s future in his hands. Paris retains its intention to extend the contract, but Mbappé holds the key to his destiny.
