Lionel Messi is set to take an extended break from football as Inter Miami, a club that failed to qualify for the playoffs, might consider loaning him out.

Reports suggest that Saudi Arabia is closely monitoring the situation of the Argentine World Cup champion, who also serves as an ambassador for the country.

However, Barcelona has categorically ruled out Messi’s return, primarily due to financial constraints associated with La Liga’s Financial Fair Play rules. These reports seem to end the speculation about Messi’s possible return to FC Barcelona, especially since Messi’s entourage hasn’t considered this possibility.

Tata Martino, the coach of Inter Miami, took a humorous approach to the situation, stating, “Messi to Barcelona? That’s for a leisurely stroll, right? It surprises me; I don’t know. If you tell me he’s going to Barcelona on vacation, I’d say yes, it’s likely, but I’m not even sure.” Messi could potentially reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo soon.
