Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid this summer will be difficult, according to the Spanish press.

Mbappé has repeatedly stated that he wants to fulfill his contract with PSG until June 2024. Paris wants to sell him if he doesn’t extend his contract, and Real Madrid is naturally keeping a close eye on the situation. However, negotiations with the Spanish club, as reported by the local press, are quite… complicated.

The local sports newspapers AS and Marca affirm that Real Madrid remains very cautious about this deal after the setbacks of the previous season. Marca goes even further and states that “Real Madrid does not hide the fact that signing Mbappé today is impossible.” Why? Because Mbappé’s camp is demanding a substantial amount equivalent to what he would earn by staying in Paris.

In total, it is mentioned that Mbappé is asking for €240 million in case of a transfer to Madrid this summer. The club would also have to pay the transfer fee, which is estimated to be around €200 million.

The Spanish press assures that Real Madrid is not optimistic, as Mbappé has not taken any steps to approach the club’s management for negotiations. He has simply informed PSG of his decision not to extend his contract. All of this seems to confirm the information provided by an agent close to Real Madrid, who stated this week that the club does not have the funds to afford Mbappé this summer.
