Xavi Simons is currently on loan at RB Leipzig for the season, and the German club is keen on retaining him for a more extended period, as reported by Bild.

According to Bild, RB Leipzig is eager to keep Xavi Simons at all costs. While a permanent transfer might be challenging, the club is now looking to secure an additional one-season loan, extending until June 2025. Reportedly, PSG is not opposed to this idea.

Bild suggests that the option seems “probable” and could be agreeable to all parties involved, especially since the player himself has not ruled out the possibility of staying another season in Leipzig, where he has been performing well. Xavi Simons had recently stated, “I am enjoying my time here with my teammates. We want to achieve a lot. We will see what happens in the future after that.”

Xavi Simons’ contract with Paris Saint-Germain runs until June 2027. According to Le Parisien, the decision about his future might be linked to Kylian Mbappé’s departure. If Mbappé leaves, Xavi Simons could return to PSG and potentially become the new star.
