Julian Draxler has been transferred from PSG to Al Ahli SC in Qatar, and he openly admits that this decision was primarily financially motivated.
After seven years at PSG, Julian Draxler bids farewell to top-level European football and heads to Qatar. He readily acknowledges that this choice is driven by financial considerations. “I could say that after 12 years in Europe, all that matters to me is experiencing a new culture, living a new international experience, being part of a project in the Arab world, and ignoring the subject of money. Even though these aspects are honestly true, I would be lying if I said that the financial aspect was not crucial in this decision,” said the 30-year-old player.
“In the end, I came to the conclusion that this new financial framework offers me even more options, both for my family and for other projects off the field,” he told Sport Bild.
Julian Draxler was earning approximately 5 million euros per season at PSG, so it’s safe to assume that his new salary is considerably higher.
