The transfer window closed in early September, and PSG managed it quite well. L’Equipe reveals the behind-the-scenes of this eventful summer.

With numerous signings, the departures of Neymar and Messi, and the Mbappé situation, PSG had a busy summer transfer window. According to L’Equipe, the trio of Luis Enrique, Nasser al-Khelaïfi, and Luis Campos worked together in harmony.

“Paris has almost entirely completed the transfer window it wanted (except for Bernardo Silva), and its key figures are still there, which was not a given,” the sports newspaper explains. This trio of leaders shares many characteristics: they are hardworking, demanding, passionate, pragmatic when needed, and capable of saving face.

Thus, the transfer window was conducted intelligently. Luis Campos identified the profiles before the summer began. “Campos is the architect of this team, and he is proud of it. It resembles what the Portuguese had envisioned a year ago, but failed to implement, an admission of failure on his part,” reports L’Equipe.

Luis Enrique then arrived, and Luis Campos adjusted the list of players to be signed. PSG President Nasser al-Khelaïfi often finalized the deals and was more involved than ever. Luis Enrique was responsible for directly convincing players with the sporting project.

“With their counterparts and in front of the players, the three men took care to display a common line around choices and values. They together assumed, for example, the announcement to ‘undesirable’ players that the club did not count on them.”
