It’s now official, Gonçalo Ramos has left Benfica to officially join Paris Saint-Germain: Benfica has disclosed the amounts.

This transfer has materialized in the form of a loan with a mandatory purchase option. The Lisbon-based club has also released an official statement on the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) website to provide all the financial details of this operation.

“Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD informs that it has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the loan of the player Gonçalo Matias Ramos until the end of the 2023/2024 season. This agreement includes the definitive purchase option for the player’s sporting rights, for an amount of €65,000,000. The transfer amount is €65,000,000 (sixty-five million euros), to which a variable remuneration linked to objectives is added, so that the total amount of the transfer could reach €80,000,000 (eighty million euros). This option may be exercised by Paris Saint-Germain or Benfica SAD during the ongoing sports season. It is also specified that Paris Saint-Germain will have the right to retain the 5% solidarity mechanism, to be distributed later to clubs that participated in the player’s development, and Benfica SAD will have a fee for intermediary services of 10% of the player’s sale value,” states the announcement.
