Abdou Diallo, the versatile 27-year-old defender, left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) during the last summer transfer window to join Al-Arabi in Qatar for a transfer fee of 15 million euros.

In an interview with the YouTube channel ASAC, the Senegalese international discussed the circumstances surrounding his move to Qatar.

“Different moves were not initially part of the plan during the transfer window. My priority was to continue playing in Europe within the top 5 leagues. There were some approaches from European clubs, but I didn’t have that feeling of ‘I absolutely need to go there.’ I’m very content with how this deal turned out,” summarized the former Monaco player.

Under contract with Al-Arabi until June 2027, Abdou Diallo now hopes to rejuvenate his career after a challenging season on loan at RB Leipzig.
