Zaïre-Emery Will Soon Be in the French National Team, Deschamps confesses

Didier Deschamps is not keeping it a secret: the captain of the French U21 national team, Warren Zaïre-Emery, is very close to earning a spot in the senior squad.

With several PSG players already representing the French national team, such as Kolo Muani, Dembélé, Hernandez, and Mbappé, Warren Zaïre Emery may soon join their ranks. Recently called up to the U21s by Thierry Henry, the Parisian player was immediately named captain.

The next logical step for him is the senior team. “What Warren has achieved since the start of the season may have been surprising initially. Of course, I exchange thoughts with Thierry Henry regarding what he has done with the U21s. It’s potentially very interesting,” says Deschamps.

“I don’t hide the fact that he has the potential to be in that senior team. Perhaps with a role below what he has at PSG. The priority remains with Henry and the U21s. However, if he continues performing, he is a serious candidate to have a role in midfield due to his incredible maturity,” states the national team coach. Could he be included in the squad for the upcoming Euros?
