Warren Zaïre-Emery, who was named captain of the French U21 national team by Thierry Henry, expressed his delight and commitment to the role after the match against Denmark.

“I’m very, very happy to be the captain of the U21 national team. We’re starting things off very well with our first victory, which gives us a great start. Hopefully, it will continue this way for the qualification round against Slovenia,” said the PSG player in an interview with La Chaîne l’Equipe.

When asked about how he learned about his captaincy, he said, “He (Thierry Henry) came to talk to me and told me what he expected from me, what he wanted. After that, I told him it wasn’t a problem for me. It’s a good thing, and it also helps me open up more, which I do very little. I’ll try to be the best captain I can be.”
