Images circulating on the web show Kylian Mbappé retrieving the Trophy of Champions and seemingly irritated by Marquinhos. But was he really upset with his captain?
Kylian Mbappé displayed a brief moment of annoyance during the celebration of Paris Saint-Germain’s victory against Toulouse (2-0) in the Trophy of Champions. The reason for this reaction seemed to be related to Marquinhos’ media obligations and not necessarily directed against his captain.
After the trophy was presented to Marquinhos, Mbappé wanted to retrieve it to celebrate with the team, but the Brazilian defender was answering questions from the Amazon Prime Video broadcaster on the sidelines, holding the trophy.
Eventually, Mbappé got hold of the trophy, expressing frustration with a PSG staff member in front of Marquinhos. Mbappé took a victory lap in front of the supporters and then shared the trophy with his teammates, demonstrating that his moment of annoyance was short-lived.
