Thiago Silva Criticizes PSG, Money and Lack of Plan

Thiago Silva

In an interview with The Guardian, Thiago Silva discussed his European disappointments with PSG and took a swipe at the club in the process.

Adding to the list of critics of PSG, alongside Messi and Neymar, Thiago Silva, who left the club in 2020, criticizes the Parisian project for its lack of clarity.

“Nothing happens overnight. You won’t succeed just because you have a lot of money,” commented Thiago Silva. “That’s not how football works. If you don’t have a clear plan of what you want, things won’t work.”

“First and foremost, you have to be respected in your own country to be respected abroad. That’s not what we did. We did the opposite,” the 39-year-old player remarked. “We wanted to be liked abroad, but we didn’t do anything to earn respect at home.”
