A group of seven suspects has been arrested as they were about to target the home of Julian Draxler, according to Le Parisien.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler narrowly escaped a burglary attempt. According to Le Parisien, seven individuals were apprehended in Saint-Cloud, in the Hauts-de-Seine region, outside his residence. The suspects were caught wearing masks, gloves, and plastic ties. Following the incident, they were placed in police custody.

“At a quarter past midnight on this large avenue, law enforcement discreetly monitored the German international’s home. Anti-criminal brigade officers took an interest in a Volkswagen Golf. The vehicle had been reported to them the previous day. The victim’s associates suspected it was conducting surveillance near the athlete’s home,” explains Le Parisien. “The officers decided to control the two occupants of the vehicle, and their search uncovered gloves, masks, and plastic ties. ‘This is quite an unusual set of equipment for the middle of summer,’ a source close to the case pointed out,” the publication continues.

“At the same time, a little further away, another car was stopped. Five men were in this Renault Clio, spotted and reported by the player’s security team. The search of the small vehicle led to the discovery of the same type of burglary equipment. The seven suspects were taken into custody at the Saint-Cloud police station for conspiracy to commit a crime,” concludes Le Parisien.
