PSG goalkeeper Sergio Rico’s health improves after a life-threatening accident.

Sergio Rico’s condition continues to progress as announced by his doctors. The Athletic highlights the health status of the PSG player, who narrowly escaped death. During his time in the intensive care unit, he lost over 20kg, which represents approximately 30% of his muscle mass.

Although the PSG goalkeeper suffered head and neck injuries, fortunately, his spinal cord was not damaged. “Doctors reported that if the injury had been half a centimeter deeper, Sergio Rico would have died on the spot. When police arrived at the scene of the accident, they believed the PSG goalkeeper was deceased before he was transported to the Virgen del Recio Hospital in Seville,” The Athletic reports.

“At the moment, he is doing what he needs to do, which is to recover. We are providing him with information from the outside, but for now, it is not his main concern,” shared Sergio Rico’s partner.

The PSG player does not exhibit any neurological problems. After emerging from a coma, he quickly regained consciousness of his surroundings, began breathing on his own, and started making movements. Initially, he communicated through his eyes when he was unable to speak. His health condition improves day by day, and he will continue his recovery in his new home in Seville.
