Samir Nasri is not convinced about the relevance of the referee’s decision to award a penalty to Paris Saint-Germain in the final minutes of the match against Newcastle (1-1) in the Champions League.

The former player of Marseille and Manchester City, now a Canal+ consultant, believes that Tino Livramento’s handball in the box did not warrant the penalty, despite the VAR intervention.

“For me, there was never a penalty! The ball first touches the body and then bounces onto the hand, even if the rule apparently no longer exists. And sometimes, not all rules are good.”

“I think it’s compensation for everything that happened during the match. For me, on both handballs, there was no penalty. The penalty, I see it in Achraf Hakimi’s action (see here),” emphasized the Canal+ consultant.
