PSG’s New Strategy Revealed by President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi

The post-Mbappé era is now. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the president of the Parisian club, is back on the offensive to discuss the future of the club.

The end of superstars. “It’s not about individual players, but about the team. A journalist asked me who will be the star of PSG next season, and I replied: ‘the team, the collective’. That’s our strategy now,” he declared.

Luis Enrique holds the power. “The boss is coach Luis Enrique. I trust him, and he is doing a remarkable job. And if we had been eliminated by Newcastle (in the Champions League group stage), I would have said exactly the same thing. Because I know and knew that we are on the right track. And the same next season, if you ask me if we want to win the Champions League, I will say yes, but it’s not our objective. We aim to do our best and continue building our team. Even though we lost to Dortmund, if you ask me if I am satisfied with the season, I will say yes.”

The Champions League. “We know that the Champions League is always difficult and it comes down to details. We have tried and will continue to try. It’s always our ambition. At the beginning of the season, I honestly never set winning the Champions League as an objective. We started with a new team, a new cycle, a new vision. Of course, I would have liked to be in the final and win, but reaching the semi-finals is already incredible for us. The difficulties encountered make this quest even more beautiful,” he added.
