Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), the owner of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has entered into a strategic partnership with Arctos Partners, a global leader in sports investment, after about a year of negotiations.

This partnership allows Arctos Partners to acquire a minority stake in PSG, estimated at around 12.5%, with an overall valuation of the Parisian club reaching 4.25 billion euros.

The new shareholder has invested nearly 530 million euros. As a reminder, QSI had acquired PSG in 2011 for around 70 million euros.

“Supporting” PSG’s Growth, Not the Beginning of a Takeover

“This partnership will be the foundation for the next phase of PSG’s global growth and will enhance the club’s footballing and commercial successes. Arctos’s investment will be used to expand PSG’s operations and support the club’s strategic real estate initiatives, including those related to its stadium and the future development phases of PSG’s training center in Poissy, in the Parisian suburbs,” PSG stated in a press release.

“Arctos will also provide services, expertise, and strategic insights to help the club achieve its ambitions. This includes supporting the remarkable growth that QSI has backed at PSG so far, continuing the club’s international expansion into new markets, including North America, rallying new and existing fans across all geographical areas, and collaborating to explore sports investment opportunities worldwide,” PSG continues.
