PSG team will head to China for the Trophée des Champions and their summer tour.

It’s been decided: for their summer tour, PSG will once again travel to Asia, this time to China. According to L’Equipe, the summer tour is scheduled for late July to early August.

The Trophée des Champions will take place in Beijing (likely around August 10th). The opponent will either be Lyon, if they win the Coupe de France against Paris on May 25th in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, or the 2nd place team in Ligue 1 if PSG wins the Coupe. Currently, that’s Monaco.

PSG has visited China several times before for the Trophée des Champions: in 2014 in Beijing against Guingamp (2-0), and twice in Shenzhen, in 2018 against Monaco (4-0), and in 2019 against Rennes (2-1).

Initially, PSG had considered going to the United States, “but the conditions weren’t right. They then explored the option of South Korea, given the presence of Lee Kang-in, a true star in his country, in their squad, and where they ended their summer tour last year with a victory (3-0) against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in Busan,” concludes L’Equipe.
