Following the incidents that occurred during the match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Olympique de Marseille (OM), the Parisian club and four of its players, namely Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, and Layvin Kurzawa, have been summoned before the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) this Thursday.
After their defeat in Newcastle, PSG and these four players are facing a hearing by the LFP following insulting chants from the players and homophobic chants from some supporters during the PSG-OM game.
The players, namely Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, and Layvin Kurzawa, could face a one-match suspended suspension for having uttered insults towards the OM players at the end of the match, even though they subsequently issued apologies.
Additionally, PSG could face sanctions such as the closure of the Auteuil stand due to homophobic chants that were heard in that part of the stadium, instead of a complete stadium closure.
The final decision regarding the sanctions for PSG and the players will be made by the disciplinary committee of the LFP. The committee will consider the evidence presented and deliberate on the appropriate sanctions, which may include the ones mentioned or others depending on the severity of the infractions.
