Daniel Riolo, RMC journalist, believes PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is solely responsible for the fiasco surrounding Kylian Mbappé’s departure.

Kylian Mbappé leaves for zero euros, making PSG the laughingstock. For Daniel Riolo, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is the sole and primary culprit for this outcome. “We expected this explanation, for it to turn into a showdown. Was it the right place? I don’t know. It’s perhaps the only thing that bothers me about this story,” he said on RMC.

“Now, if he did it, it’s because the French team authorized it, because it didn’t bother Deschamps. If Deschamps said okay, go ahead, do it.”

“Did he lack class? Okay, fine… That’s possible, I can accept that. But for him, the problem is elsewhere. I think of the PSG supporters: between a Mbappé who lacks class and a Mbappé in top form against Dortmund, what do we choose? I think everyone would have wanted him to be in top form against Dortmund, and he wasn’t allowed to be in top form,” says Daniel Riolo, referring to Mbappé’s reduced playing time at the end of the season. According to Kylian Mbappé, this decision was imposed by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
