For once, PSG has been relatively fortunate in the draw: it’s Real Sociedad in the Champions League Round of 16. The players watched the draw live.

PSG didn’t draw one of the European “heavyweights” for the Round of 16. A stroke of luck? Only time will tell, but according to Le Parisien, there was no explosion of joy in the locker room.

“Kylian Mbappé’s teammates were able to discover the identity of their future opponent live on the giant screens installed along the training fields, usually used by Luis Enrique for tactical exercises during his sessions,” says Le Parisien.

Luis Enrique had planned a break during training for the players to watch the draw together. At the time of the draw, the players showed no euphoria or signs of joy. “Some players, concerned about preparing well for this major winter event, have said they want to follow the Spanish team’s matches attentively.”

However, L’Equipe provides a slightly different version, claiming that in private, Luis Enrique’s players did not hide their satisfaction at having drawn the Basque team after finishing second in their group.
