The future of PSG’s sports advisor Luis Campos may not be entirely linked to that of Kylian Mbappé, according to L’Equipe.

Luis Campos joined PSG in 2022 to facilitate Kylian Mbappé’s contract extension. The two men have been close since their time at Monaco. So, if Kylian leaves, does Campos leave too? Not necessarily, according to L’Equipe.

“His relationship with president Nasser al-Khelaïfi is considered solid today. However, this discretion brings a deficit of public representation for the club. Only Luis Enrique speaks very regularly,” notes L’Equipe.

According to the sports daily, Luis Campos’ future at PSG is not linked to that of Kylian Mbappé. Because NAK and Campos have managed to find a way of working: the Portuguese launches recruitment processes, and the president concludes them. And everyone is happy, even if the sports advisor’s record is not necessarily the best.

“He complained in the summer of 2022 and this winter about the constraints of Financial Fair Play, but the Portuguese has been able to spend a little over €450 million since his arrival, signing 18 recruits for PSG,” recalls L’Equipe. “For successes (Barcola, Hernandez) but also major failures (Ekitike, Sanches, Soler, Ramos).”

L’Equipe cites Gonçalo Ramos as an example of this mixed record: “If he still needs time, Ramos looks like a casting error. Initiated by Nasser al-Khelaïfi, the recruitment of Randal Kolo Muani has not yielded the expected results,” advances the sports daily. “The recruitment of the duo Lucas Beraldo-Gabriel Moscardo looks more like Campos’ touch. But the two Brazilians remain gambles,” concludes L’Equipe.
