Despite a dominant performance, Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-2 to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, largely due to their inefficiency in front of goal.

In the PSG/Atletico match on Wednesday, Luis Enrique started Marco Asensio as a false nine. This defeat has reignited debates over the absence of a true striker in the team, a gap that seems to weigh heavily on the team’s offensive efficiency. When asked about the issue by a journalist, Luis Enrique responded quite harshly.

“Bring me that player if you have him. Where am I supposed to find this striker?” Enrique fired back in the press conference, responding to a question about the lack of a true number 9 in his system.

“I stay true to my ideas. The day I fail in football, it will be with my ideas, not with those of a journalist or another coach. (…) Football doesn’t reward goal-scoring chances, it rewards goals. We’re aware of that and we need to improve on that point,” the Spaniard added.
