Kylian Mbappé will indeed be there, starting in the lineup. Quickly recovering from his ankle injury, the PSG forward will be the number one threat for the Spaniards. However, Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil does not intend to develop a strategy solely aimed at countering the French attacker.
“Mbappé is one of the best players in the world. He’s capable of getting past four players, finding space, creating goal-scoring opportunities. These kinds of players, it’s almost impossible to stop them when they’re having a good day,” the Spanish manager told reporters.
“But what characterizes me, and you can ask the players, is that I never prepare a match based on just one player, in this case Mbappé. They have a great coach, a great team, Mbappé is an immense player in the middle of an immense team. But he’s not the only one. If we want to win, we have to play the best match possible.”
