Neymar confirms that he is staying at PSG but goes further to discuss the failures of the club last season, particularly the MNM trio: Messi, Neymar, Mbappé. Why didn’t it work out?
“The Galacticos didn’t win the Champions League… We had a very strong team. Me, Messi, and Mbappé are three guys who are the best in the world, we know that, but it just didn’t click, it wasn’t right for us. Obviously, we wanted to win everything, but sometimes football is like that, it’s just not good,” he said.
Neymar then talks about his health status, several months after his injury and subsequent surgery. “It’s a troublesome injury, very uncomfortable. The process has been very painful and challenging, but I’m working hard to come back strong (…) Of course, winning is always part of the goals, but right now, my main focus is to play well again. After the World Cup, I didn’t want to continue, not because of the pain of losing, but to prevent my family from suffering, it weighs a lot on them. But they’ll have to endure it again. I’ve reconsidered it, as I really want to win the World Cup.”
