New PSG shareholder reveals the location of the future stadium

PSG will abandon the Parc des Princes in a few years: Arctos Partners unveils the plan.

Paris Saint-Germain will leave the Parc des Princes and Paris in the near future. The Paris City Hall has refused to sell the stadium in the west of the capital, which could prompt the club’s leaders to consider building a new venue. Arctos Partners LP, a minority shareholder of the French champions, seems to be opening the door to this possibility. And plans to establish itself in the suburbs.

“There is a strong possibility of PSG developing a new modern stadium in the suburbs,” said the investment fund’s CEO, Alastair Seaman, at the Financial Times Business of Football Summit in London. “It’s in progress, we’re working on it with them.”

“There are too many unmet demands today and this project can solve the problem. It’s simple, actually: there is only one club in a city like Paris, which is one of the most visited in the world. This has allowed their brand to become bigger than the local league. Very few clubs are able to achieve that.”
