The draw for the upcoming edition of the Nations League has presented a significant challenge for the French national team.

The Blues find themselves in Group 2, alongside Italy, Belgium, and Israel. The matches in this competition will begin from September 5th to 7th, concluding between November 17th and 19th.

The new format of the Nations League, won in 2021 by France, stipulates that the top two teams from each of the four groups in League A will contest quarter-finals, scheduled for March 20th and 25th, 2025, followed by a final four tournament set from June 4th to 8th, 2025.

Unlike previous seasons, a potential third-place finish like the one achieved in 2022 will no longer suffice to ensure France’s stay in League A. The 3rd placed teams from each group will have to compete in a playoff in March 2025 against the runners-up from the groups in League B to maintain their status in the continental elite.
