Kylian Mbappé found himself on the bench against Nantes. However, according to PSG coach Luis Enrique, it wasn’t a punishment.

After informing president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi of his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, forward Kylian Mbappé began the match against Nantes (2-0) this Saturday from the bench.

Some may have interpreted this as a sanction, but PSG coach Luis Enrique categorically denied this idea, simply explaining that he wanted to rotate the team to give playing time to the substitutes.

« It was a tough match, in a great atmosphere. It’s always challenging to follow up after the Champions League, so we tried to change the team a bit, to give some players playing time to show us that they deserve more. (…) I’m happy with my team. If we want to compete for all titles, which is our objective, it’s essential that all players are involved, » reiterated the Spanish coach to Canal +.
