Daniel Riolo criticized Kylian Mbappé on RMC’s After Foot show for attempting to change his playing style. Mbappé seems to be transitioning from a relentless striker to a playmaking passer, as evident in the Rennes-PSG match.

Riolo commented, “There seems to be a desire from Mbappé to become a passer. I’m okay with that. Adding it to your skill set is fine, but substituting it for what made you strong, like acceleration, dribbling, and powerful shots, that’s where I have a problem. I don’t understand.”

Riolo argued that Mbappé is not like Benzema, a player capable of taking on various roles, and said, “Mbappé is not a number 10; he doesn’t have the required qualities to play in that position. I want him to stay on his side, accelerate, break down defenses, and not drop back to provide a good pass. I’m not even sure he’s capable of that. He doesn’t have the technique for it. Mbappé’s strength is not that.”
