Eight months ahead of the Olympics in France, Kylian Mbappé has reiterated his desire to participate in the competition scheduled for next summer. However, the captain of the French national team emphasized that he does not have the final say in this decision.

Mbappé will abide by the decisions of his employer, whoever it may be. In the summer of 2024, the PSG player is currently a free agent, committed nowhere. There’s no contract extension in Paris, no deal with Real Madrid. However, he insists that he won’t participate in the Olympics without the approval of his future employer.

“I have always wanted to play in the Olympics. Now, it’s not me who decides; it’s my employer who decides,” he stated. “It will be a pleasure to play in them. The final word belongs to my employer. If he doesn’t want me to do it, I won’t. It’s not a problem, but of course, I would like to play.”

“If it’s yes, it’s yes; if it’s no, it’s no. I can’t change anything about that. What I want is, of course, to play in them. I think people also want me to do it. I think it will work out.”

Mbappé’s schedule could be quite packed next summer: the Euro in Germany (June 14-July 14) and then the Olympics in late July/early August. After that, he’ll be back to the league, either Ligue 1 or La Liga?
