In an interview with Marca, renowned Italian coach Fabio Capello shared his perspective on the potential arrival of 25-year-old Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid.
Capello, who had successful coaching stints with Real Madrid, believes it’s a questionable move, considering the presence of Vinicius Jr. in the team.
According to Capello, “Mbappé is not a center-forward; he prefers to play more on the wing. Madrid already has Vinicius in that position, but Mbappé is Mbappé! If Madrid wants to sign him, they must consider if they now have a center-forward. And they don’t. They need one more. But if you look at technical quality, who is the better footballer, Mbappé is above Haaland,” stated Fabio Capello.
Reflecting on his coaching experience, Capello mentioned, “When I was coaching Milan, we played against Bordeaux, which had a very, very good young footballer named Zidane. But I already had a good player in that position, Donadoni, and I didn’t need another player in that area. So, we signed the player we needed for our team, namely a center-forward.”
