According to Laurent Perrin, a journalist for Le Parisien, there is significant tension between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Kylian Mbappé following the star player’s departure to Real Madrid.

Al-Khelaïfi is reportedly unhappy with Mbappé’s decision to leave the club, and Perrin believes that the president’s “susceptibility” is the root cause of the issue.

Perrin suggests that Al-Khelaïfi views players who leave PSG as “traitors,” a binary reaction that the journalist deems unbefitting of a leader of Al-Khelaïfi’s stature. He further criticizes the president’s handling of the Mbappé situation, calling it “lacking in class.”

Perrin claims that Mbappé had no intention of leaving PSG and simply informed the club that he would not be extending his contract. He also denies rumors that Mbappé was considering an offer from Saudi Arabia, stating that the player was solely focused on remaining at PSG.

The journalist also asserts that French President Emmanuel Macron made no attempt to convince Mbappé to stay, presumably due to his understanding that the player was set on joining Real Madrid.
