In The After Foot, RMC Sport’s editorialist, Daniel Riolo, claims that Kylian Mbappé is not comfortable playing as a number 9: “Contrary to what people may think, Mbappé does not like this position. As he is in his last year at PSG, he won’t complain. He knows he is leaving, so he overlooks it.”
“Obviously, he doesn’t like the position that Luis Enrique wants to assign him. That he does it, it’s a coach’s choice, but that he never wants to explain anything afterward and that he disdains those who ask him questions, it’s perfectly unacceptable. I find his attitude abnormal, contemptuous, and selfish.”
Luis Enrique also faces criticism. “He annoyed me again on Sunday (after the draw against Brest) by not responding, tinkering with his team as he pleases. He is free to do that; he is the coach. He chooses the absurd positions for Beraldo and what he absolutely decided to do with Mbappé, which will provoke his departure.”
