Kylian Mbappé’s status in Ligue 1 has become less certain in recent matches: a treatment endorsed by former PSG coach, Antoine Kombouaré.
Mbappé on the bench Sunday during PSG-Reims, is understandable. For Antoine Kombouaré, it’s even logical considering his departure to Real Madrid at the end of the season. The former Parisian coach approves Luis Enrique’s choice.
“As a coach, there’s what he says and what he does. The message he conveys, perhaps, is ‘I’m preparing for the future and at the same time, I preserve my gem and play him in the big matches in the Champions League and the French Cup,'” Kombouaré assessed in l’Equipe.
“That’s how I interpret his message, and now I’ll see what he does, starting tomorrow in the French Cup against Nice. Mbappé has only one idea, which is to leave on a high note. He’s focused on the Champions League,” Antoine Kombouaré concluded.
