Luis Enrique addressed the ongoing rotation policy at PSG during a press conference on Tuesday.

Last Sunday, Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé were on the bench during PSG-Reims. This is a common occurrence for Dembélé, but less so for Mbappé. However, Mbappé will need to get used to it, as Luis Enrique intends to experiment with the forward line before his departure.

This decision to place Mbappé on the bench is not a punishment, as the Spanish coach reiterates in every media appearance. Instead, it’s about preserving players who are at risk of injury, especially considering the upcoming important matches.

PSG management has not issued any directives

“We study every little detail for each player individually. All matches are important, like tomorrow’s match or in the Champions League. Ousmane has no problem; he is available for the coach. We need to control the playing time for highly explosive players like Dembélé or Mbappé. They have incredible speed, which carries risks. It means managing their playing time more or less,” he revealed.

Luis Enrique also claims to have full support from the club’s leadership.

“Since I arrived, from my first meeting with Luis Campos and since I met the president (Nasser Al-Khelaïfi), I have always felt complete trust and support. The project is somewhat new for the club, different from previous coaches, with many young players. The idea is to ensure that our supporters follow us and feel that we play well. I am having a good time personally, as a coach, and that’s how you should lead a football project.”
