Ultimately, a meeting was organized at the Parc des Princes, just before the kickoff of the match against Toulouse. The two individuals met in a room away from prying eyes and ears. According to Le Parisien, the tone quickly became heated, and the exchange turned into a real confrontation.
A witness cited by Le Parisien even claimed that “the walls were trembling” during this tense discussion. The tension reportedly caused delays for the start of the warm-up, with the players entering the field four minutes later than scheduled.
However, RMC and L’Equipe deny this information. A club spokesperson refutes the claims. “It is regrettable to see false news circulating tonight,” they state. “There was no dispute between the player and the president. They regularly met before matches to finalize the terms of departure at the end of the season. Each meeting was constructive and respectful, including before last night’s match.” However, the club’s management acknowledges an “explanation” between the two men, without mentioning tensions.
