Luis Enrique Praises Collective Effort and Young Talents as PSG Advances in Coupe de France

In the 16th round of the 2023-2024 Coupe de France, PSG secured a 4-1 victory against Orléans. After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique shared his thoughts with beIN SPORTS.

While acknowledging that the match wasn’t flashy, Luis Enrique praised the team’s collective effort. He mentioned the importance of maintaining the right intensity, stating, “This kind of match becomes complicated if we don’t have the right intensity. But that didn’t happen to my team; we dominated from the beginning, which is quite normal. We were very focused, and there were transitions to be worked on, but I am rather satisfied.”

The match provided an opportunity for squad rotation, including the inclusion of young players. Luis Enrique emphasized the significance of gradually incorporating young talents into the team: “Yes, it’s very important because, obviously, there are key players, but there are others. There’s Ethan, Senny, and others who are very young and need to be gradually integrated into the team. This match reinforces the idea that ours is to win the Coupe de France with the entire team.”

Luis Enrique also expressed his belief in the strength of the team’s collective spirit this season: “Yes, what is very important is that if there is not the right attitude, we will not achieve anything. I believe that today was a decisive match, of course, there was the right attitude, there was determination. And the truth is, if you don’t run, you quickly get cold in weather like this.”

The coach also had positive remarks about the recently replaced pitch, which had raised concerns before the match: “Yes, I have to say it’s incredible. It’s the first time I’ve seen a pitch that was changed so recently and has been so successful. The technicians deserve congratulations; I’ve never seen anything so fantastic. The pitch held up well.”
