Kylian Mbappé’s Confessions: Olympics or Not, Bus Travels, Hectic Schedule, and Career Path

In an interview with « GQ » magazine, Kylian Mbappé opens up… a bit.

Kylian Mbappé is gradually breaking his silence. He granted a major interview to GQ, in which he talks about almost everything except his future.

Firstly, Mbappé discusses the Olympics. « I have reached a stage in my life and my career where I don’t want to force things anymore. If they let me participate, I will gladly go, but if it’s not possible, I will understand. »

The Euro. « We are one of the most anticipated teams in this competition, and we are ready and calm. We had very good qualifications, and our goal is to win. »

The hectic schedule and the NBA model. « Personally, I am not against playing so much, but we cannot be good every time and give the audience the expected spectacle, » warns the French international. « We are approaching the NBA model, with seventy-game seasons. In the NBA, players don’t play every game, and franchises practice load management [resting non-injured star players]. But today, if I decided to say ‘I’m tired, I’m not playing on Saturday,’ it wouldn’t go over well. »

Bus travels. PSG often opts for bus travel for short trips. Mbappé treated himself to the new Playstation Portal to « survive » (according to GQ) the two and a half hours of bus travel to Le Havre. « I will charge it well, » he says.

Saudi Arabia and his… own path. « Many great players who have marked the history of football left Europe this summer, and we are entering a new era of football. It’s the normal cycle of this sport, and at some point, it will be my turn to leave, » he relativizes. « These changes don’t worry me, and I am just thinking about continuing my career by following my own path. »
