Luis Enrique had expressed his dissatisfaction with Kylian Mbappé’s performance last weekend after the hat-trick against Reims, and Didier Deschamps playfully commented on that statement after Mbappé’s new hat-trick against Gibraltar.
After the historic 14-0 victory, Didier Deschamps was in a teasing mood. The coach of the French national team used Luis Enrique’s words about Kylian Mbappé to make fun of the PSG coach.
“I expect much more from him,” DD said, laughing, on TF1. “Beyond his quality, what he is capable of doing, he has this reflection, this collective dimension in relation to his role as captain, he is perfect. He knows it; he is an extraordinary player capable of doing things that others do not.”
“It goes beyond that, with everything he can bring in terms of tranquility to the group, not just on the field,” Deschamps added more seriously.
